The chef, Steven Dehaeze, learned the trade of kleinsaf already familiar in his parental home. The taste for working in the hospitality industry learned quickly, so he soon began his studies at the hotel school "Ter Groene Poort" in Bruges. During the school year he took part in some races, ie a match with Parma ham (1st prize) and several participations in the best apprentice in Belgium (1 x top 5 best times and 1 apprentice in Ontario). After his studies he learned the tricks of the trade in fine masters such as, Stefaan Boxy's (restaurant Boxy's / Kortrijk) and Eddy Vandekerckhove (Gastronomic Restaurant Town / Marke).
In November 1997 it all went very quickly, when Steven and Lisa had the opportunity to open their restaurant, but in Rekkem.
They were located next to Restaurant "Au Beau Jardin" and there they built them in a gourmet wing. During this period they receivedan opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, and to build a loyal clientele.
In March 2002, the big moment arrived, to their customers even better service to assist Lauwe they moved, they were no longer the gastronomic wing, but were a stylish restaurant where people enjoy going forward.
Anno 2011: We can now say that we are still becoming a personal style and vision of contemporary cuisine have. We honor the products andjustice to allow this, the molecular gastronomy is come to bid without thereby exaggerating.
