restaurants around the Rouge Tomate
The Rouge Tomate restaurant in Brussels boasts the exceptional setting of a manorial house dating from 1883 and situated on the prestigious Avenue Louise. On the street side is the library with its warm woodwork. Along the bar, a contemporary interior stretches gently towards the garden. A vast wooded terrace extends under the shade of century-old beech trees. A few palm trees add the finishing touch to this oasis of calm in the heart of Brussels.
Alex Jospeh, the restaurant’s chef, prepares the various dishes on the menu with passion and creativity. He serves a contemporary cuisine with seasonal and local accents that blend pleasure with nutritional balance: Iced soup with peppery chlorophyll, creamy goat’s cheese; Sea bream ceviche, red onions and lime juice; Refreshing salad of marinated raw vegetables with lemongrass; Ginger poached turbot, minute fried vegetables with fresh coriander.
The “Rouge Tomate” cuisine adheres to the principles of the SPE® nutritional charter. Developed by chefs and dieticians, the SPE® charter is an innovative approach to nutrition applied to catering, validated by an independent scientific committee.
The wine list was created by Pascaline Lepeltier, joint runner-up best sommelier of France in 2008. Featuring wines that are the product of an organic or biodynamic viticulture respectful of the region, she brings to the fore both major classics as well as little gems produced by the new wave of young, talented winemakers.
The upper floor of the manorial house is reserved for private events and banquets.
